The hotel is closed from monday the 23rd March until sunday the 29th March. We continue to follow updates from our government, and the closing period could be extended if needed. Guests with bookings in the closing period will be contacted by our reception.
UPDATE MARCH 12
Following Mette Frederiksen's press conference on March 11, we have chosen to make following adjustments in line with the government's announcements.
So far, we are still open at Hotel Royal and you can still book accommodation with us. We follow our already intensified cleaning procedures, which can be seen further down the page.
However, the following of our facilities are affected as of today:
- Royal Casino is closed from March 12 until March 29 (online casino is still open)
- Restaurant Atrium & Bar is closed until April 1st
- Room service is closed until April 1st
- The fitness and sauna facilities are closed until March 29
- Breakfast buffet is closed until March 29, and we only serve breakfast platter with a selection of the breakfast - price for the buffet is downgraded to DKK100,- pr. person.
We have made these precautions to contain any risk of infection, both for our guests and our employees. We hope for your understanding.

Procedures and guidelines
As a protective measure we are spending extra resources on our cleaning procedures. Every surface and contact point are being cleaned with disinfectant several times a day. All cleaning detergent have been replaced with disinfectant and sanitizer. At all bathrooms and the reception desk, alcohol-based hand rub is available. Please view the gallery below for WHO guidelines.
Day staff: After check-out all room keys are disinfected and sanitized. At the end of shift receptionist will disinfect and sanitize both elevator keypads and handles, table, coffee table, coffee maker surface, housekeeping keys, reception desk, phones, terminals, headset, PC mouse, screen and keyboard.
Evening staff: At the end of shift receptionist will disinfect and sanitize both elevator keypads and handles, table, coffee table, coffee maker surface, housekeeping keys, reception desk, phones, terminals, headset, PC mouse, screen and keyboard.
Night staff: During the night shift the receptionist will disinfect coffee maker surface, all lobby handrails, both elevator keypads and handles and whole staircase handrail. At the end of shift receptionist will disinfect and sanitize table, coffee table, reception desk, phones, terminals, headset, PC mouse, screen and keyboard.
When the breakfast restaurant is closed all tables are disinfected and sanitized, as well as handles, salt/pepper grinders and various surfaces. All breakfast vouchers are sealed in an envelope for 48 hours before re-use. The reception desk will note date and time and keep the envelope stored.
Common areas: All handles, handrails (lobby, staircase), surfaces, centerpiece tables on every floor, both elevators and all bathrooms are disinfected and sanitized every morning and in the afternoon.
Meeting rooms: Daily disinfected and sanitized on all surfaces, tables, outlets, light switches handles and window clasps.
Rooms: All rooms, departure and in-house, will be disinfected and sanitized in all surfaces, bathroom, handles, telephone, TV-remote, outlets and light switches and window clasps.
